Lively, dense crimson-red colour. The nose is outstanding – rich and distinctive with notes of rosemary, resin, dried tomatoes with cardamom and black olives. Tight, yet still quite young body with an abundance of notes of essential lavender oil, dried rosemary and freshly ground black pepper. Long and noble peppercorn finish, which is quite characteristic for the sort. May continue to age. An exceptional wine with its own classic style (91 pts.).
This remarkable Vinica Mavrud 2015 not only took 4th place on the prestigious Top 10, but also won the Best Bulgarian Wine for a Local Variety for 2018.
